With Japanese politicians constantly appear to be dragging each others' legs, especially with the political pressure from energy industry to silence any voice against nuclear energy, it looks somewhat hopeless.
But there is always ways to look on the positive side.
There are many many volunteers and NGOs working tirelessly helping those in need.
And there is definitely something "art" can do to help bring light into the dark.
The non-profit organization Peace Winds Japan that Artists Help Japan have been supporting through Mercy Corps is one of the top organizations successfully helping out.
They also have a partnership with the world famous animation studio, Studio Ghibli.
Studio Ghibli is known for Oscar winning Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro and most recently Ponyo.
Studio Ghibli has toured around the affected area of northern Japan with their latest film Kokuriko Saka Kara directed by Goro Miyazaki.
You can only imagine kids in the shelters with so much joy watching their latest film before even opening in the theaters!!!
